Edenton National Fish Hatchery


Description:
The present station of the Edenton National Fish Hatchery (NFH) was established in 1954. Our mission is to provide interjurisdictional fish restoration (striped bass) for the Roanoke, Tar-Pamlico Neuse River Systems. to provide striped bass to South Carolina and Virginia to support interjurisdictional fish restoration, to provide technical assistance and rearing capacity in the recovery of Cape Fear shiners. to provide environmental education. and to provide public outreach opportunities to visitors. Visitors are welcome! We have public aquarium and indoor classroom, and nature trail?raised boardwalk through wetland. There is an Annual Fishing Rodeo and a Hatchery Open House in June.
