Nevada Museum of Art

Description:
Founded in 1931, the Nevada Museum of Art is the oldest arts organization in Nevada and it remains the only nationally accredited art museum in the state. It is recognized as a leader among museums for its innovation in reaching out to new audiences and developing unique partnerships throughout its community. The NMA is accredited by the American Association of Museums (AAM) and encompasses a studio-classroom, the E. L. Cord Museum School, that allows educational services to expand to children, families and adults. The NMA has an ambitious goal to build its collection into a center of excellence in environmental arts. The five focus areas of the collection visually articulate the environment and the West.
