Frank H. McClung Museum


Description:
The Frank H. McClung Museum is an important component of the University of Tennessee. The museum?s permanent exhibits include: archaeology and the native peoples of Tennessee, ancient Egypt, traditional decorative arts and decorated ethnographic objects, the geology and fossil history of Tennessee, the emergence of humans with a focus on "Lucy" and other early hominid fossils, and the biology and human use of freshwater mussels. There are also changing exhibits focusing on the Civil War in Knoxville, turn of the century medical practices in East Tennessee, and pitchers from the Hensley Pitcher Collection.
