American Jazz Museum

Description:
This new 50,000-square-foot museum complex has opened at the intersection of 18th and Vine Streets, paying homage to the area known as the cultural and economic center of Kansas City's African-American community in the decades before desegregation. Known as the Museums at 18th & Vine, the complex is comprised of the American Jazz Museum, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, the Horace M. Peterson Visitors Center, and the 500-seat Gem Theater. Located behind the museum complex is an outdoor performance theater.
